Peanut-Apple

Over the past few months, I’ve been working on a new version of Peanut for iOS and macOS. Initially, I had no plans to develop software for Apple platforms again due to the high costs and the challenges of managing updates. However, I’ve decided to give it another shot and see how it goes this time around.

Both the iOS and macOS versions were completely rewritten from scratch using Swift, Apple’s programming language, because the Android version was originally developed in Java. Lot of work!

Update 17 dec 2024

Apple has informed me that they cannot accept my application because the Peanut app requires a HAM radio license to test its functionality, and they do not have testers with such a license. Unfortunately, this means my hard work may have been for nothing.

Update 22 dec 2024

Still trying to convince Apple to accept my updates—I’m not giving up! They asked me to create a video about the software, so I uploaded it yesterday and am now waiting for their response.

Update 23 dec 2024

Good news! Apple accepted my video and deployed the MacOS update for my 3 testers. Lets see if my next update is also accepted. Fingers crossed 🙂
I just uploaded a new version with some new features and see what will happen.

Update 24 dec 2024

Also my new update for MacOS is accepted by Apple without issues.

Update 25 dec 2024

Time to add some new testers. Contact me before 7 feb 2025 if you want to test.

Information for testers.

  • Do not share screenshots, details or other information about this product version on internet. ( very important ! )
  • You need a peanut registration
  • You have the possibility to test almost every day.
  • You must run the latest operating system.
  • There is always a chance that Apple will stop development on this project.
  • I have two projects on Apple. MacOS and iOS. Let me know which one you’d prefer to test.
  • I am not a company — This is a passion project I work on after my daytime job.
  • Please test on stability, more features will be added when the software is publicly available and I see users using the software.
